If there is one thing that we don’t like to do in our fast paced society it’s wait. We’ve become so accustomed to our culture of instant gratification, where anything we imagine can be at our fingertips in literally seconds, that the concept of waiting for anything has become almost unbearable. Just considered the frustration that starts to arise within us any time we see that little Mac pinwheel pop-up on the screen. (Or for you PC users, consider the agonizing feeling you have when your cursor turns into that little hourglass symbol when you’re pressed for time!) Even though, truthfully it may only last a couple of seconds that still doesn’t stop us from wanting to toss the machine out of the window!
Technology has just made life more convenient for us and we have become conditioned to expect everything to move at the speed of life. But what about the notion of being patient and learning how to wait? Is there really any beauty in learning how to be content while you wait?
One of the most important exhortations in the Bible, and perhaps one of the hardest is a command to “Wait upon the Lord.“ Why is it so Hard? Well, because in our fleshly nature we are so prone to take matters into our own hands and move them along in our lives in our own timing! But, we consistently see the decree in the Bible to “Wait upon the Lord.”
No doubt waiting can be tough, but it’s important to remember that your willingness to wait upon His timing is really an expression of your belief, trust, and knowledge in Him.
Belief:
“Wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning. Psalm 130: 5,6
In this passage the psalmist was comparing waiting expectantly on the Lord to the night watchmen who kept guard over the city. The watchmen would wait all night in great anticipation and expectation for the dawn of morning for they knew it was a reliable occurrence. In the same manner he is illustrating that in our waiting on the Lord we too like the watchmen should wait in great anticipation and expectation. For God is beyond reliable in keeping his promises.
Trust:
"My soul, wait silently for God alone; my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation." -Psalm 62:5-6
There’s a prerequisite in this expression of trust, and that’s the element of sacrifice. In order to truly wait on the Lord you first must put down your own agenda and sacrifice control of the situation to the Lord. Only when you learn to fully relinquish control can you truly trust and wholeheartedly wait upon Him.
Knowledge:
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
Waiting on the Lord should be “fundamentally wrapped up” with knowing who He is and understanding the promises that He has made for those who love him. We can only belief and trust in Him if we have an understanding and reference for who He is!

I want to be impressive to the point of being impactful! Not because I want fame, but because I want others to be impressed by what the Lord has done.
IMPRESSIVE - Evoking admiration through size, quality, or skill: grand, imposing, or awesome.
These are just some of the qualities that come to mind when I think of the impressive Ambassadors of Men of God Christian Fraternity. These men are raising the standard and standing firm. They are looking to impact their communities as well as their own lives and I want to continue to grow until I can be as impressive as the brothers who are helping to hold me accountable.
These brothers challenge me to become impressive through prayer, fasting, and serving others. It’s not about obtaining wealth, collecting toys or pumping myself up, but about allowing God to work through me with a special anointing that causes me to change while impacting the Kingdom of God.
I know this fraternity is the right place for me because it is helping me to be impressive to the point where I am impactful.
God bless Men of God Christian Fraternity and all of the Ambassadors that make it what it is.

There are so many things in life that demand our attention. Things that dictate how our days will be structured and tell us what is possible and not possible. We’re constantly finding new ways for us to be in 100 different places at once. 25% of our attention is thinking about the project at work, 10% of us it thinking about what to make for dinner, 15% of us is halfheartedly taking a conference call with our church ministry, all while 40% of us is trying to focus on the immediate task in front of us. And the other 10% is fielding Groupme text messages every three seconds! While in everything else we find a way to squeeze more and more activities into an already overloaded day we often over look the most vital part of our day, sincere quiet time with God.
What seems like the easiest of all things to make possible always seems to be the one activity that just never fits the schedule. But the fact of the matter is that there’s nothing more important than the quality time you set aside for the Lord. We often don’t see it that way because it doesn’t yield immediate benefits. And with the on-the-go mentality that we have cultivated in our lives twenty minutes of reflection and prayer can seem like more of a nuisance than a necessity. Consider this, your body can be pushed to the max for a couple of days but eventually it will need to recharge, the worlds most powerful battery is the Rotary Piston Generator which is said to hold ten times the energy of current high powered batteries, but it too after a full use needs to be recharged in order to work at optimal performance. Our spiritual wellbeing is no different! We are made up of two components, physical man and spiritual man. Like the physical part of us our spiritual being needs to be constantly recharged!
There’s no specific formula for quiet time with God, it’s really a matter of however you best commune with Him. Although, what it should be is wholehearted, uninterrupted, and solely your own. Corporate fellowship is great, but fostering a personal relationship with God is vital. Remember, God longs to fellowship with his people, and he is always available and waiting for us to turn our heart toward him. (1 Corinthians 1:9)
I challenge you to make quiet time a top priority in your life for the next week. Set aside ten minuets in your day and meditate and reflect on a scripture. Tell God what’s on your heart and ask him to guide you through the Holy Spirit. Sing praises to him, our just sit in silence and reflect upon his goodness. Chances are at the end of the week your life isn’t going to be dramatically different but, I can guarantee that God will honor the time you have spent with him! Be encouraged

One of my great joys when I go home is watching my niece ride her bicycle. Ask her and she’ll be among the first to tell you that she is a little speed demon on here little Dora the Explore bike. She hasn’t quite grasped the concept of balancing herself on the bike so truth be told, the training wheels do most of the work. I’ve seen her fearlessly take 90-degree turns, at full stride, with one training wheel completely off the ground all with a smile on her face. She doesn’t know how it all works all she knows is that when her feet hit the pedals she expects it to take off.
It might sound funny but I think there is something quite unique about her child like faith in her bike riding ability. You might say perhaps she is a bit naive to the whole truth of the situation but maybe that’s a good thing. As Christians sometimes I think we can be a bit too cautious in our spiritual walks. So often when God tells us to move the first thing we do is look to our sides for our spiritual training wheels and it’s not until we can see that we will be assisted in the journey that we decide to take the first step. But the truth of the matter is, as Christians, all we have is our faith and the Holy Spirit that resides within us. There will be many times that God will challenge us with a task that seems improbable. One that doesn’t seem to come with the aided assistance of spiritual training wheels.
Consider God’s servant Moses and the challenge that was set before him in Exodus 14. Here Moses stood with all of Israel, the red sea before him and Pharaoh viciously pursuing from behind. In this moment all hope looked lost and his own people questioned why he had lead them out to the desert to perish. Now Moses could have looked to his side and said “God, I don’t see my assistance we can’t go on." But he didn’t, he just put his foot to the pedal, raised his staff and trusted in God. As we continue to grow in faith, there will come a time when God will take the spiritual training wheels off and require us to obey him in faith. But don’t worry, just because you can’t see your assistance anymore doesn’t mean that God won’t provide. You don’t always have to know how things will work out just trust that God is able to make a way. Take a queue from my niece and just start peddling!

I heard the football coach for the Oregon Ducks say one time when asked if his team was ready for the pressure that comes with playing in a BCS National Championship Game that “Pressure is something you feel when you are not prepared. We are prepared for this game so we don’t feel any pressure.”
Often times in life we feel pressure and the walls off life closing in because we have too much on our plate. From kids, work, ministry and school we have a lot going on at any given time. There is nothing wrong with having a lot on your plate as long as you are prepared to deal with it all. We often tackle the demands of life by ourselves while taking out our frustrations on our loved ones.
How do you truly prepare to handle the pressures and demands of life? You don’t push forward, you step back. You step back and recognize where your strength, knowledge and anointing comes from and that is Jesus. He can and already has prepared you for everything that will come into your life. Like the Oregon Ducks you must prepare for life by spending time with the one that created life. There may seem like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done, but there is always time for Jesus.
Prepare for what’s next in your life by spending time with God today.

Recently, I experienced the birth of my first child...a beautiful baby girl!! There is no better feeling in the world then to hold your child for the first time! It's hard to even anticipate what it would be like to be a parent; the amount of responsibility it would take and sometimes, the extreme lack of sleep! LOL!
But when I'm holding her in my arms as she sleeps or as I'm feeding her, I realize how much she needs me and my wife; she depends on us for everthing: her nourishment, protection, love, and affection. God has entrusted one of his own into our care and it's our responsibility to care for her.
In the same manner, we as Christians are totally dependent on God for our protection, love, spiritual and physical nourishment, and affection. There are so many references in Scripture that God refers to us as His children, and as such, it is His responsibility to care for us. We often forget that we must totally depend on Him for everything that we need, and not rely on our own vices. He knows every hair on our head, and thus, knows everything that we want and need. It is our responsibility to totally put our trust in Him, even if we may not understand His ways. But "He knows the plans he has for us; to prosper us and to give us peace". He is the ultimate parent to model, and I intend to model my parenting style off of His!

This is Ambassador Strong Island. I'm about a day late but better late than never. I am sitting here looking at Mitt Romney at the national republican convention make promises to help families and make America better. I'm listening to the cheers of the republicans as Mitt cleverly places jabs at our current President. I'm reminded of the promises and clever jabs made by President Obama and how so many Democratic cheers roared throughout when he ran for President. It all makes me think how things will still get worse before they get better despite of who our leaders are. One thing I am confident in is that regardless of the future turmoil that lies ahead, Abba Father is our protector and shall hide us in His tabernacle and set us upon a rock of stone. If we dare seek His face continually and express our love through obedience there is nothing God will withhold from us. Be encouraged MEN OF GOD for God will certainly keep us in perfect peace.

There is something to be said about the paradoxical obsessiveness held by the French impressionist painter Claude Monet when he emphatically declared
“Color is my day long obsession, joy and torment.”
Although for the last two days I have felt as if we have shared in the same lunacy, my cause isn’t quite as noble. Where he dedicated his life to understanding the subtleties in color and artistic technique I’ve simply been obsessed with three luminous colors blinking across my wrist. You see, I’ve recently just become the proud owner of a Nike fuel band a compliment of the tech guru at my agency. We’re doing a little experiment in gamification and we’re using the Nike Fuel band to help motivate and stimulate changed behavior among coworkers.
If your not familiar with the Nike Fuel band it's essentially an electronic wristband that helps to keep track of your daily activities and motivates you to reach a predetermined set goal for the day. You can find out more about the band here or in the video below.
The whole idea of the band is to help you keep track of your progress at all points through out the day. With the touch of a button it showcases your latest activity count and illuminates a red, yellow and green timeline symbolic of your daily progress toward your goal.
And it is here, at the crossroads of fascination and narcissism that I have found my insanity. For the last 48 hours I have found myself drawn to pushing the button and checking my progress as if my life depended on it.
Typing and checking.
Answering the phone, then checking.
Stretching, then checking.
The compulsive checking has become overwhelming and at this point is reminiscent of the Frodoian desire to possess the One Ring (Yes, that Tolkien reference just happened.) But it's not an obsession without merit, there is good reason to make sure I’m always in good standing. The grand prize after this little experiment is an iPad, and the player with highest fuel points at the end of the month takes it home! A cause some would say is well worth the persistence.
And now 48 hours into the contest I have abruptly arrived at the point where the wide road of excessive desire has funneled and merged into the one-way street of conviction.
With a militant stringency I have pushed and checked, evaluated and adjusted all for the sake that those little red lights would eventually grow and blend into the green bulbs of success. But in my daily walk with Christ, which by the way is illuminated and guided by something far more precious than a swanky wristband, have I found myself insane for the cause of aligning to His will. Has my desire to abide in His love been illustrated by an obsessive compulsion to share the gospel. There’s an iPad at the end of this road but my Father has promised an eternal crown, one of righteousness for those who long for his appearing. Isn’t that far more valuable then some calories burned and an iPad.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8
Like Monet I have come to the rationalization that my life is all but completely enthralled in a single vice; one of which I am destined to serve with the totality of my heart. His was paint, color, brushstrokes and art. Mine is Christ.
As I stand now at the plateau of a renewed mind I pray that the words of Bob Pierce would be engraved on the tablet of my heart “Let my heart be broken with the things that break the heart of God“ and that ultimately “Christ would be my day long obsession, joy and torment.”
Be blessed and encouraged,

If you've ever owned an automobile, you are aware of how important it is for the car's wheels to be in proper alignment so that it may continue to drive properly, straight, and without unnecessary wear-and-tear on the tires. In order to maintain proper alignment, the car owner should periodically have the car's wheel alignment checked which usually happens by having the tires rotated and balanced.
Obviously, it is more important for the Man of God to maintain proper alignment with the Lord Almighty. Daily confensssion of sin helps bring us into such alignment. Confession can be described as agreeing with God by speaking what he speaks (even when out of alignment). Do you maintain a practice of daily confession of sin....of maintaining your alignment with the Father?
If not, start today so that times of refreshing (and alignment) may come. I John 1:9

When you celebrate a birthday it makes you think about all the things you've been able to accomplish over the course of your lifetime. Yesterday was my birthday and one of the things that I am so thankful to God for is M.O.G.
This is a great organization that has already blessed so many individuals, changed so many individuals and impacted so many individuals. Not just the brothers of the fraternity itself, but also the wives, children, churches and communities of each member.
This is good ground and I am proud of what God has accomplished through me and many others in my lifetime.
Thank you for the birthday love yesterday. Thank you for your support of this ministry. I not only count the past years as a blessing, but also count the possibility of future years as a blessing as well.
Love,
